Everything’s bigger in Texas. That includes a passion for driving classic cars, which is why there are so many amazing opportunities to celebrate this love with others. The Lone Star State is home to many amazing classic car clubs that are open for car-lovers of all stripes to join. These are a few fine examples.

Austin County Cruisers

The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except June, July, and August) and welcomes members who seek to enjoy and promote the “old car” hobby. Additionally, the club hosts an annual car show, the Classic Care Stampede on the Second Saturday in March. This show features vehicles up to 1976. Because it is a cruise-in, no registration is required.

With annual dues of only $10 per year per family, this car club dedicated to the Model T is the place to be if you’re a fan. The club offers classes on car maintenance and the opportunity to hang out with others who share the same passion for these classic beauties. Most meetings are in the form of outings, gatherings, or tours and occur at least four times per year.

Active club based in the Hill Country of Central Texas, the Lake Area Rods and Classics club encourages the restoration and preservation of classic cars, trucks, and street rods. The club participates in local car shows, cruise nights, and local fundraising and charity events. This family-friendly club seeks to make cruising in these classic beauties fun for everyone – of all ages and actively works to encourage wives to participate.

This club is particularly dedicated to fans of the golden days of Chevy, which includes cars, trucks, and Corvettes from 1955, 1956, and 1957. The organization is 125 members strong and growing.

Another Hill Country car club, The Touring Club focuses on the experience of driving these beautiful cars along the highways and byways of the Texas hills. The club hosts monthly meetings in Fredericksburg and participates in various national car tours each year as well as several club-sponsored tours and overnight events. You do not need to own an antique car to belong to the club. Anyone who loves old cars is invited to join.
